When your garden needs a burst of color and low-maintenance drama, Asiatic Lilies are your go-to bloomers. These early summer stars come in a riot of shades — from sunny yellows and fiery oranges to rich reds and playful pinks — with upright, trumpet-shaped flowers that make a statement in any sunny space.

Why You’ll Love Them:

Asiatic lilies are among the earliest lilies to bloom, bringing a brilliant splash of color just when many other perennials are still waking up. Their upright blooms don’t flop, and the strong stems make them excellent cut flowers — lasting a week or more in a vase!

They're hardy, multiply year after year, and require minimal attention. Plus, they don’t need staking like taller varieties, making them perfect for containers or sunny garden beds.

Quick Facts:

- Height: 18–36 inches tall (some varieties up to 4 feet)

- Hardiness Zones: USDA Zones 3–9

- Light Requirements: Full sun to light shade

- Ease of Growth: Very Easy – Great for beginners and pros alike

- Bloom Time: Late spring to early summer

- Fragrance: Generally non-fragrant, unlike Oriental lilies

Growing Tips:

- Well-drained soil is a must. Soggy roots = sad lilies. Consider raised beds or amend heavy soil with compost and sand.

- Plant in groups of 3 or more for a natural, full display.

- Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more energy into bulb growth for the next season.

- In colder zones, add a winter mulch for extra protection.

Our mission for sustainability:

Melos diggings prides ourselves on all-natural and pesticide free gardening for our products. We aim to give back more than we get in our gardening doing our most to curate an environment worthy of some of natures more reserved species such as hummingbirds and monarch butterflies.

I also pursue apiculture in a hope to assist in the global decline of the bee population. While our hive collection is small someone doing a little here and a little there can add up if enough individuals do it and we can all as one truly make a change.

We base all of our gardening off the ideals of permaculture and regenerative gardening. Constantly aiming to minimize our impact and always striving to give back. We recycle all materials, plant matter anything we can reuse we make sure we do. We mend all of our soil using natural methods never turning to industrial fertilizers of any kind all in the pursuit of bettering our environment around us and giving you all the best product we can.
